When configured with the 16- or 36-port EtherSwitch
network module, the Cisco 3700 Series offers a single,
integrated platform that combines flexible routing and
low-density switching. In addition, it can support
internal inline power for the EtherSwitch ports,
delivering a single-platform IP telephony and voice
gateway solution that facilitates flexible, incremental,
and scalable migration to a converged network. These
single-platform solutions help lower total cost of
ownership by simplifying training, deployment, and
management, and modular expansion options help protect
current network investment.
As a cornerstone of Cisco AVVID (Architecture for
Voice, Video and Integrated Data), the Cisco 3700 Series
supports rich Cisco IOS Software features such as
availability, quality of service, and security to
address the resiliency needs of the branch office. The
Cisco 3700 Series combines these features with flexible
application and services consolidation to offer branch
offices a platform optimized for integrating future
services.
There are two basic models, the Cisco 3725 with two
Network Module slots, and the Cisco 3745 with four
slots. These are the Key Features :
