SonicWALL's Network Anti-Virus solution combines virus scanning at the desktop with enforcement at the Internet gateway using the award-winning family of SonicWALL Internet Security Appliances. It uses industry leading, ICSA (International Computer Security Association) certified anti-virus desktop software from McAfee, the leading business anti-virus solution provider.

SonicWALL's Network Anti-Virus automatically and transparently ensures each user on the network is running the most up-to-date virus protection, in essence acting as an enforcer of the company's virus protection policy. No administrator or user maintenance is required. This innovative new approach means the most current version of the virus definition file is installed and active on each PC on the network, preventing a rogue user from disabling the virus protection and potentially exposing the entire organization to an outbreak.

The SonicWALL Network Anti-Virus Subscription eliminates the challenges of managing network-wide anti-virus solutions. It transparently deploys and maintains anti-virus software from the Internet security appliance to each of the clients to be protected-no desktop-by-desktop installation, configuration, or maintenance required. Automatic updates ensure all nodes on the network are protected from all virus sources-email, files, and storage media.

• Network Wide 24x7 Virus Protection
  Based on Network Associates' McAfee VirusScan technology, SonicWALL Network Anti-Virus automatically and transparently updates the virus software on every computer on the network, providing around-the-clock protection from new viruses as soon as the cure is available.
• Enforced Virus Protection on all Windows PCs.
  Virus protection is enforced for any Windows computers on the LAN. If a user removes the virus protection software from their computer, they will be forced to reinstall as soon as they try to access the Internet. The SonicWALL ensures that Internet access will not be allowed without up-to-date virus protection. As updates occur the Sonicwall appliance will force out updates as they are found.  This feature is also an internal check, not allowing users out to the web until they have the most current version.
• E-mail Attachment Filtering.
  Enables custom rule configuration for filtering potential virus carrying E-mail (SMTP) attachments. A network administrator can either delete or disable E-mail attachments based on a centralized list of file extensions. Another bonus feature allowing the administrator to set rules to drop known virus attachments at the gateway.

These Trojans can be used to open a path into the LAN for the sender, or even take over computers on the network to be used in attacks on other remote networks. SonicWALL Network Anti-Virus detects and deletes these Trojans before they can take control of your network.
• Comprehensive Virus Alerting and Logging.
  With SonicWALL Network Anti-Virus, the administrator is kept abreast of newly discovered serious viruses.
