- WoW is a popular online game with
more than 8 million players worldwide.
- SonicWALL first began providing
protection against this malware in October 2006, and has been issuing
new signatures on a continual basis as more variants of the malware,
designed to steal the in-game assets of WoW players, have been
identified.
- Windows DNS
Server Service Vulnerability
- Because this is a server problem, all
users of an infected server can be affected. Exploits of this
vulnerability can potentially affect servers that run on Microsoft
Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 4, Windows Server 2003 SP 1, and
Windows Server 2003 SP 2.
- SonicWALL first issued signatures
designed to protect subscribers of SonicWALL's dynamic threat
prevention services against exploits of this vulnerability on Friday,
April 13 and has continued to issue updated signatures as more
information and exploits have been discovered.
