TZ 180 TotalSecure Threat Protection – SonicWALL TZ 180 Customers are Protected From:

  • Malware Targeting World of Warcraft (WoW) Players
    • WoW is a popular online game with more than 8 million players worldwide.
    • SonicWALL first began providing protection against this malware in October 2006, and has been issuing new signatures on a continual basis as more variants of the malware, designed to steal the in-game assets of WoW players, have been identified.
  • Windows DNS Server Service Vulnerability
    • Because this is a server problem, all users of an infected server can be affected. Exploits of this vulnerability can potentially affect servers that run on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 4, Windows Server 2003 SP 1, and Windows Server 2003 SP 2.
    • SonicWALL first issued signatures designed to protect subscribers of SonicWALL's dynamic threat prevention services against exploits of this vulnerability on Friday, April 13 and has continued to issue updated signatures as more information and exploits have been discovered.
  • Windows ANI Exploit
    • Windows Animated Cursor Handling vulnerability, also known as the .ANI exploit. SonicWALL's original protection against the core vulnerability in Windows was deployed in December, 2006. Exploits against the vulnerability first appeared in late March.
    • High volumes of attacks have already been reported against vulnerability, which can be exploited either via e-mail or the Web.
